Turn off Thank You prints and stickers when owners buy their own prints
When a Smugmug owner buys his own prints there is no reason to send out a Thank You Print or put a sticker on the box. Please turn off Thank You prints when owners buy their own photos
HI, we don’t – if you are logged in when you order, no thank you print or sticker should come. Please write heroes with ord# if you had this happen, thanks! http://smugmug.com/help/emailreal
Update: Smugmug Support got back to me and said Stickers and Thank You Notes, if enabled, do go into packages ordered by Owners who are logged in, contrary to Andy's note from 2010. And I confirmed that is happening with my clients.
Unfortunately, the SmugMug Pro branded packing slip is also included. Perhaps that is conditionally triggered because it was an owner-purchase, which would mean there is no true drop-ship capability.
p.s. Suppressing the Packing Slip (via Bay Photo) with SmugMug Pro branding all over it and none of mine, is another need when ordering and sending prints to clients. I thought this was happening with Thank You Notes and Stickers enabled. Is there really effectively no "drop ship" ability in Smugmug when I am not in a position to hand deliver prints, or have clients self serve?
This should be optional: include or not include while logged in. And situation, exceptions should be indicated to owner during checkout.
I just ordered a bunch of prints *for* clients, sent directly to them, thinking Thank You Prints (with vital holiday business reminders) and Stickers were included. I could not see the $1 charges during checkout, but thought that was the usual Smug annoyance of not showing owners some vital info while logged in and shopping (like lab used, color correction settings.)
The Sticker Help page has nothing about this Owner condition. (And whether it is $1 each for stickers and prints, $2 if you get both, is not clear. The "and/or" in the phrasing suggest $1 whether one or both are enabled.)
And related: the new Gallery Settings pop-up, under Shopping/Branding, only mentions Prints, not Stickers, further confusing things.
